17 Tips for Traveling With Your Dog
Traveling with your dog can be a fun experience, but for those that aren't prepared and don't have the right equipment, it's just no fun. Making sure that you have thought of everything possible will help to make your trip a pleasant one. Below is a checklist to consider when traveling with your dog.

First and maybe the most important, make sure you have tags identifying your dog including information on how to contact you.

Some dogs suffer from motion sickness. If this is the case for your dog, try training the dog to enjoy riding in a car. Make it fun for the dog. Long before a trip, start driving around with your dog and increasing the time in the car each time. Also, make sure that the dog has been fed about 3 hours prior to setting off. There are some medications available for motion sickness for your dog. Check with your Veterinarian to find out what you should do.

Bring a roll of paper towels and some wipes to clean up any messes.

Buy an appropriate dog carrier for your trip. If you are traveling by plane, make sure to buy an airline approved dog carrier. Check with you specific airline.
